How Can I Use My Family Photos?

*This is a collaborative post.

Taking lots of pictures of the fun things your family gets up to together can be great. However, more often than not, these may end up not being used whatsoever. While you may take them thinking that you will look back on them frequently, you may soon realise that you have hundreds, if not thousands, of images. In addition to this, an error with your camera or phone may lead to you losing them altogether. Therefore, you may want to think of how these pictures can be used and kept safe.

Having art around your home can really help to brighten the place up. Instead of purchasing prints and frames, you could opt to have your photos printed onto a canvas with hellocanvasAlternatively. This can allow you to create a grand mosaic of images on your walls, in a variety of sizes and also shapes. Alternatively, you could use a collage of pictures on a single canvas, to really maximise the effect. Having family photos around your home may help you to look back fondly on those moments. The canvas can also allow it to be quite the statement piece, especially if placed in one of the more central areas of your home.

If you’d rather have something more minimalistic, but still present in your home, you might want to consider a technological approach to flaunting those family photos. Digital photo frames aren’t new, having been about for over a decade now, but some people may still not be aware of their existence. They can also allow you to showcase more than one image, offering the option to slideshow through any images that you put on . Many might require you to upload your images onto a computer, and then save them to a USB stick, which is then inserted into the frame. However, some of the more upmarket ones may also have Bluetooth capability, which can make the process a little bit more seamless. You may be able to get them to run in chronological order, or simply shuffle through the images so you get a more varied selection each time you look.

Rather than displaying images as they are, you could also think about ways that they can be incorporated into art and craft time with your children. You may be able to use the images to create your own homemade collages. Alternatively, for the really artistic family , you could even include them in decoupage activities, transferring those photos onto vases, boxes, or other ornaments or furniture. This way, not only can you make the most of the pictures you have taken, but you can also have some wonderful quality time together.

While not all of the photos you take may be given a purpose, you can find ways to help the majority become useful in your life. Whether that is through being used in displays or to give you the chance to spend more time together, is up to you. What matters the most can be to help those moments live on in your memory.
