How to grow peach trees with seeds (hint: don’t throw those pits!)
Save money by planting peach trees from seeds. It’s very easy! Since its release a few years ago, my video on how to sprout peach pits has received more than 500,000 views. Watch it below.
Since publishing that instructional video, I have received comments and emails from many people, thanking me for showing them how to grow peach trees by planting peach pits.
Recently, my friend Amanda sent these two photos of her successful peaches sprouting.
How do you sprout peach pits?
A few years ago, I found the peach pit in a dusty corner on the Internet. Cold stratification germination. Cold stratification is a technique used to simulate real-world conditions, that is, after the cold winter gives way to the warm and humid spring, the seeds will go outdoors.
When planting peach trees from seeds, there are six cold layering methods to choose from:
- Cold water soak
- refrigeration
- Planting in autumn
- Winter Solstice Sowing
- Outdoor therapy
- Ueki
I used this knowledge to test and achieved great success. I found about 50 peach pits under an abandoned and squirrel-ravaged tropical peach tree a few miles from my old place in North Florida.
Despite the fact that there are groups of narrow-minded gardeners who are happy to tell everyone about the worthlessness of planting fruit trees from seeds, I did this experiment.
These people are wrong.

Here are two photos of some delicious fruits I got from sprouted peach pits in my refrigerator:
In their second In one year, my two peach saplings produced about 5 gallons of fruit. Their yield continues to greatly exceed the grafted peach trees I planted before them, and they grow more vigorously.

Sometimes, “experts” are not necessarily correct. They are just stubborn, because they hear other people say so. Go to hell.
