  • mayonnaise – Feel free to use your choice of mayonnaise here.i like to do Homemade Mayonnaisebut this prefab Also one of my favorites. If you want to lighten it up, you can swap out some of the mayo for Greek yogurt or sour cream. For those allergic to eggs, vegan mayonnaise is an alternative.
  • Sriracha – If you’re really sensitive to fragrances, you can always start with less. It’s easy to add more content later. Other types of hot sauce will work too.
  • Optional add-ons – You can add lime juice (or lemon juice), sesame oil, ginger, garlic powder or chili powder for different flavor variations. Salt is usually not needed as both mayonnaise and sriracha contain salt.
Customization: Adjust the heat to your liking.

This spicy mayo is semi-spicy. If you are super sensitive to spice, start with a little less (a few tablespoons), you may want to add more sriracha if you like spice. However, be aware that the more sriracha you add, the thinner it will be.

Storage Instructions

  • Shop: This sriracha mayo recipe is delicious and can be enjoyed right away, but you can also make a large batch for later use. Store it in an airtight container, such as a glass bottle, in the refrigerator. It lasts as long as your mayonnaise alone; a minimum of 7 to 10 days for homemade and a few weeks for store-bought. However, since the sriracha we add is acidic, it may keep a little longer in the refrigerator than regular mayo.
  • freeze: Avoid freezing spicy mayo. Mayonnaise based sauces do not freeze well and the texture will be ruined when thawed.
