When we bought a house in Vermont, one of the things I was most excited about was the old electric oven, because I knew it meant we could get an induction stove. When I was first introduced Coffee shop appliances I had the opportunity to see a demonstration of their new product line a few years ago, and I could not understand the induction technology. We have an old gas stove in the RI house, so it makes sense to use it again, but this time comes the opportunity Use induction I can not wait anymore.
The cool thing about induction is that the magnetic current directly heats your pots and pans. It provides incredibly precise control, faster heating time and my favorite things, and it’s very easy to clean. In the past, we only used gas and electricity, which was a bit of a learning curve for us, but it made mealtime much easier. The 11-inch sensing element can boil water in less than two minutes! We also recently downloaded the free air fryer mode via wifi, which is so cool, I like that it means that our small kitchen does not require an additional countertop air fryer.
I am a big fan Double oven range This gives us a lot of flexibility. The upper oven heats up very fast, and we use it most often for cooking. The larger bottom oven is great when we are entertaining and need more cooking space. I still can’t believe that we were able to download the air fryer update, and Craig was very impressed with that.
This vegan grilled cheese is one of our favorite fast foods, and it is now delicious with fresh garden herbs and cucumbers. This is the complete recipe. If you try it, please let me know! You can see our complete Vermont kitchen renovation Here.
Vegan grilled cheese
I wrote this recipe for two people, but of course you can adjust accordingly to make more. I use a cast iron pan for this recipe, but any stove pan will work.
To prepare grilled cheese: slice the cucumber lengthwise and slice the avocado
Spread pesto on the bread slices, add cheese slices, cucumber and avocado
Add a few sprigs of fresh dill
Spread about 1-2 tablespoons of vegan butter on the outer bread slices
Heat the remaining vegan butter in the pan over medium heat
Place the sandwich in a pan, cook until the bread is slightly browned, flip the other side and do the same thing (total cooking time is about 5 minutes, but this will vary depending on your stove).
Serve with your favorite noodles, we made sweet potato fries and fried them in the oven. enjoy!
