cell Provide zero-touch configuration and cut projected operating costs by up to 25%.
Kerlink today announced the launch of its new LoRaWAN® indoor gateway, designed to help smart cities, factories, warehouses, and building owners and operators easily support a large number of connected sensors and large-scale IoT devices.
Kerlink’s Wirnet™ iZeptoCell Gateway Designed to reliably and seamlessly support low-power, wide area network (LPWAN) and LoRaWAN® technologies, it is ideally suited to handle the following three key features: Mass Internet of Things:
- A large number of personal endpoints (sensors or devices) connected to the IoT network,
- The network coverage of remote and widely dispersed endpoints or internal devices in basements and underground buildings is facing increasing challenges, and
- The number of small data packets sent from the endpoint to the edge and the cloud has exploded, requiring only low latency and small bandwidth.
Jean-Philippe Balberde, Kerlink’s marketing manager for innovative products and solutions, said:
“This new member of the Kerlink Wirnet iSeries is not only Kerlink’s latest product, it embodies a brand new fully operational design that combines hardware, software, and value-added services that are critical to the large-scale Internet of Things and improving the end user experience. “
Although the global forecast of installed IoT terminal devices will be updated regularly as their actual deployment increases, the large-scale IoT is usually an index of one billion such devices. Gartner predicts that by 2029, more than 15 billion IoT devices will be connected to corporate infrastructure.
Simple, flexible, plug-and-play IoT gateway
The new gateway allows network operators and owners to overcome three main challenges common to custom and private indoor LoRaWAN network deployments designed for large-scale IoT:
- Simple and quick installation In different environments, because it is compatible with different power sources, such as multi-blade AC-DC power supplies, USB and Power over Ethernet (PoE) splitters,
- Flexible and optimized backhaul version With Ethernet or local LTE-M link, pricing to adapt to different network configurations and budgets of customers, and
- Strict plug and play Thanks to market-leading key functions, such as zero-touch configuration, users do not need to have professional technical knowledge.
There are two versions of Wirnet™ iZeptoCell, which differ only in backhaul options:
Wirnet™ iZeptoCell Ethernet (Available now)
Connect to LAN
Wirnet™ iZeptoCell cellular (Listed in February 2022)
Connect to wireless access network (LTE-M)
“Wirnet™ iZeptoCell is a perfect combination of innovative hardware using the latest technologies such as Sx1302, built-in antenna and local cellular backhaul, and Kerlink’s well-known and powerful synonymous with operational excellence software, which is currently installed in more than 70,000 gateways worldwide. ,” Barbard said.
“The result is a timely, market-responsive gateway that meets the needs of large-scale IoT and reflects Kerlink’s industrial-grade technical expertise, with excellent radio performance and impressive product reliability.”
Remote expert management tool
Wirnet™ iZeptoCell is associated with the Wanesy™ Management Plane (WMP) itself, which is a set of tools dedicated to remote network performance monitoring and diagnosis to provide stability, availability, and reliability. WMP is a subset of the carrier-grade functions of the Wanesy Management Center (WMC), allowing customers to perform targeted network development and optimization through gateway configuration, monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting.
The API-first, user-friendly interface simplifies remote network deployment and continuous operation, and maximizes service quality over time. For example, WMP can help network operators automatically update the latest firmware and software, coordinate downloads and configurations, or determine network densification needs.
This native combination of hardware equipment and software management tools can also help operators achieve up to 25% reduction in operating costs.
