Internet of Things News-Quectel Receives T-Mobile 5G NR Module Approval


Quectel, the world’s leading provider of IoT modules, announced today that its 5G New Radio (NR) module RM502Q-AE has been certified for operation on T-Mobile’s 5G NR and LTE networks in the United States in April.

This Quectel RM502Q-AE Is an 5G module Optimized specifically for eMBB and IoT applications. Based on Qualcomm’s commercial 5G platform SDX55, it supports 5G NSA and SA modes and LTE Cat 20. RM502Q-AE adopts M.2 shape design and is compatible with Quectel’s LTE-A M.2 modules EM120R and EM160R, facilitating the migration of customers from LTE-A to 5G.
RM502Q-AE supports all major operating systems, including Linux, Windows, Android and Ubuntu. It also supports 5G network slicing, enabling customers to immediately deploy a wide range of 5G devices and applications in North America, such as home CPE/gateways, industrial routers, VR/AR glasses, cloud gaming devices, laptops, industrial PDAs, and rugged tablets , 8K TV/camcorder, etc.

The RM502Q-AE module faces the global market and aims to support the world’s major 5G NR frequency bands (n1/n2/n3/n5/n7/n8/n12/n20/n25/n28/n38/n40/n41/n48/n66/n71/n77 /n78/n79), Citizen Broadband Radio Service (CRBS) for private networks and integrated GNSS for location services.

The RM502Q-AE module has also obtained global regulatory and conformity certificates, including FCC, IC, CE(RED), RCM, GCF, PTCRB, JATE/TELEC, and mass production will begin in the fourth quarter of 2020.
