New Quectel module enabled TV University Router Bundle multiple 5G signals and provide higher bandwidth for 8K UHD real-time mobile transmission.
Quectel’s 5G millimeter wave module RM510Q-GL has been selected by TVU Networks, a market and technology leader in cloud and IP-based real-time video solutions, to support its 8K Ultra High Definition (UHD) video transmitter, the TVU router.
Rack-mounted routers can provide 4Gbps by aggregating up to six internal 5G modems, TVU routers provide reliable and portable Internet access, and will now include six Quectel 5G millimeter wave module. TVU router is very suitable for remote real-time video production, file transfer and emergency communication applications.
along with 4K/8K live broadcast With the rapid acceptance of digital broadcasting technology in the market, higher requirements have been placed on wireless systems, including requirements for higher data rates, higher reliability, stability, and low-latency transmission. These requirements are solved by Quectel’s RM510Q-GL 5G millimeter wave module, which allows 5G TVU routers to bundle multiple 5G signals and provide higher bandwidth-downstream and upstream data rates up to 4Gbps. Through the Quecter module, TVU Router can realize real-time remote transmission of 8K UHD or 8K VR panoramic signals.
Patrick Qian, CEO of Quectel, said:
“As 5G is rapidly becoming the world’s leading mobile technology, we see new use cases every day. Our excellent 5G modules have been selected by global partners for various applications, including the rapidly growing 4K/8K live broadcast field.”
“We are proud to have a deeper cooperation with TVU in millimeter wave technology. We can’t wait to see the progress brought by using our 5G module in TVU routers.”
In addition, millimeter wave technology supports 5G deployment in large cities and dense urban environments. TVU routers equipped with Quectel’s RM501Q-GL module are very suitable for indoor and outdoor on-site production. It can support large-scale activities that require large-capacity inside and outside, and the wireless connection provided by Quectel’s millimeter wave module makes it flexible and suitable for all types of deployments, reducing costs compared with traditional live broadcast solutions.
As the first millimeter wave module launched by Quectel, RM510Q-GL has been deployed on a large scale in industrial and commercial applications, such as wireless broadband access, notebook computers and high-definition video transmission. The RM510Q-GL module supports millimeter wave and Sub-6GHz frequency bands in both 5G NSA (non-independent) and SA (independent) modes.
“We have been working with Quectel to test and validate 5G technology for 4K and 8K HD live broadcasts,” Said Paul Shen, CEO of TVU Networks. “As a partner, we attach great importance to them and are confident that their 5G millimeter wave modules will bring advanced features to TVU routers. This combination of Quectel/TVU highlights the huge potential of 5G.”
At MWC Shanghai 2021, Quectel collaborated with TVU Networks, China Unicom and Qualcomm to demonstrate how 5G millimeter wave technology can achieve 8K live broadcast, AR and VR through mobile networks to enhance winter sports coverage.
Quectel also supports TVU to bring multiple 5G-based solutions to the market, including the TVU One 4K HDR mobile transmitter for measuring the height of Mount Fuji. Last year Mount Everest.
