orlando passion (madness in orlando) and its sequels Orlando Inamorato (Orlando in love) are the two longest epic poems ever written in Italian. They contain hundreds of characters, some of whom are so famous and influential that their names have entered the Italian dictionary!
One of the characters is Gradasso, in the previous poem (composed by Matteo Maria Boyardo in the late 1400s), he is the king of Sericana and the Nabataean Arab people. Although Gradasso Technically a name, it is listed in the dictionary as a masculine noun and therefore takes the following definite and indefinite articles:

However, when referring to female braggarts, it requires a female ending -A and -e.
