The two co-wrote multiple tracks and received three nominations in two categories of awards, which are designed to recognize creative musical achievements in songwriting and composition.
The Grammy Award and Brit Award-winning songs Watermelon Sugar and Adore You were partly written by Styles and Harpoon, and both were nominated for PRS’s best musical performance.
These tracks also face competition from Before You Go and Some You Loved from British Music Award winner Capaldi, as well as the number one Head & Heart from Joel Corry and MNEK.
Musician Styles and Harpoon were also nominated in the Songwriter of the Year category. There are five nominees this year, including AJTracey, Celeste and Jamie Hartman, Kamille and MNEK.
Pa Salieu won the BBC Voice of 2021, and he was nominated for two best album awards and best contemporary energy song featuring Mahalia for “Send Them to Coventry”.

Arlo Parks, who won the Best Newcomer Award at the 2021 Brit Awards, received the Black Dog nomination for the first time in the category of Best Songs in Music and Lyrics.
She faces competition from the 2020 British Rising Stars Championship Leicester, because one of her tracks Stop This Flame and Marina (formerly Marina and the Diamonds) comes back on the track Man’s World.
At the same time, in the category of best TV soundtrack, BBC’s “We” by Oli Julian, composer by James Bond and former Ivor Novello Award winner David Arnold ( David Arnold’s Matthew Herber and Dracula’s Noughts + Crosses, and Alex Heffes and Anoushka’s ” “The Right Boy” Shankar was nominated.
Each category is judged by an independent jury composed of songwriters and composers invited by the Academy, with the exception of the PRS for the best musical performance and the songwriter of the year. The winner of the latter is based on PRS for Music’s 2020 performance data.
The nominees for Songwriter of the Year will be selected by the Ivers Award Committee, and the winners will be voted by members of the Academy for the first time.
