President Joe Biden On Friday, Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey praised it after she blamed the recent surge in COVID-19 cases on unvaccinated people.
Biden delivered a speech in Arlington, Virginia, supporting Democratic Gov. Terry McAuliffe, who is seeking a second term in November this year. He directly mentioned Ivey when discussing the pandemic.
On Thursday, Ivey, a Republican, told reporters that it is time to start “blaming people who have not been vaccinated” for the increase in COVID cases. Her state has one of the lowest vaccination rates in the country, at only 33.9%.
Biden said on Thursday: “What we have now is an unvaccinated epidemic.”
“A lot of our very conservative friends finally have an altar call. They have seen the Lord,” he said.
“Whether it is open Fox News Or whether it’s the most conservative commentator or the governor,” Biden said.

The President praised Ivey in particular, and emphasized the low vaccination rate in her state.

The governor called the vaccine “our greatest weapon against COVID” and urged people to get vaccinated.
Biden also strongly supported Governor McAuliffe on Friday.The governor is competing with Republican Glen Youngkin, and the president is closely related to the former president Donald Trump.

The president added: “Terry’s opponent is a true follower of Donald Trump.”
