“I don’t want to lose contact with my daily supporters,” he told BBC Newcastle Radio.
“Every day I get news. The news says about my color or other disgusting things, really.
“There is nothing you can do-you just have to try to ignore it. I don’t think Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter have fought enough for us to do anything else.
“I think in this day and age, the only thing you can do is ignore it and try to put it behind your head.
“It appears on your phone, and they have a way to send these disgusting things directly to your phone, which is a bit hurtful. It makes me painful—even talking about it.
“If you leave social media, you will lose contact with all the outstanding fans who support me every day. You want to see my daily life, see what I’m doing, and connect with me through a platform they don’t have. In real life.”
