Jungfrau Railway: Take a picturesque train to the Top of Europe

It’s no surprise that a small country like Switzerland has attracted the hearts of many people and has become everyone’s dream destination. In a very special way, Switzerland is one of the most influential cities in the world because of its quaint alpine villages, ski resorts, hiking trails and modern landscapes. A fascinating country with extraordinary diversity, a treasure trove of luxury watches and delicious chocolates. No matter what your itinerary is, it is impossible to exaggerate its beauty. A voyage to Switzerland will only make you want more. Jungfrau is such a fascinating UNESCO World Heritage Site, it will definitely enhance your Swiss travel experience.

Swiss Railway

Overlooking the eternal snow of the Aletsch Glacier, the Jungfrau, Montura of the Bernese Alps combines the Jungfrau and the monks. This European mountain is 34,000 meters above sea level and is a must-see peak in the Swiss canton of Valais, because here you can admire the excellent quality of Swiss glaciers bathed in natural sunlight. For me, coming here means going back to the ice age, because my memory bank stumbled upon some of my favorite scenes in “Youth”.

Jimmy dressed up as Adolf Hitler, Fred Ballinger escorted the cowbell, and Mick Boyle transformed on the top of the mountain; their luxurious vacation in the Swiss Alps was set next to a series of neighbourhoods that you can’t wait to visit A very desirable plot. Embark on a spectacular Jungfrau railway journey, crossing the deepest snow embankment, and crossing the Eiger and Mönch Peaks in Switzerland. This tour will end with you enjoying the unique alpine landscape from the Sphinx terrace. Let me show you how to plan a trip to Jungfrau, a ridge that connects the Jungfrau and the monks.

Jungfraujoch on the Jungfrau Railway

Start your journey at Interlaken Ost Station and then travel to Lauterbrunnen or Grindelwald via the Bernese Oberland Railway. This voyage will take nearly two hours. However, since you are endlessly chased by a series of wonderful scenery in Switzerland, time flies so fast that it seems only a few minutes. After arriving in Lauterbrunnen, take the Wengenalp cable car to Klein Sched. From here, take the Jungfrau Railway to Jungfraujoch.

The spectacular scenery and magnificent sights along the way make the Jungfrau Railway the most popular railway in the world! It always makes you feel like standing on top of the world, and it “really” takes you there! After the Jungfrau Railway arrives at Eiger Glacier Station, get off and explore the mountain restaurant and polar kennel. This “Top of Europe” tour includes a journey back to the Jungfraujoch from Interlaken, Grindelwald or Wengen. Along the way, you will be fortunate to stop at the Eiger Glacier Station, the Great Ice Palace, Aletsch Glacier, the Ice Gate, the Alpine Research Exhibition and the Sphinx Observation Deck to take pictures.

Jungfrau Railway Station

The Swiss Jungfrau is located at the highest point in Europe, at an altitude of 11,000 feet. It is close to the Eiger, Jungfrau and Monks Mountain. For more than 100 years, the Jungfrau Railway has been heading to the highest point in Europe. A comprehensive network of tunnels connects this railway station to the Top of Europe. The first tunnel was built between 1896 and 1912, and it leads directly to the mountains. Get ready to be amazed by the alpine spectacle when you reach the top of the mountain. Here, visit the Sphinx Observatory and the charming Ice Palace.

This ice palace is a series of ice caves implanted under alpine glaciers, depicting the development of tourism in the Alps and the history of the Jungfrau Railway. The elevator to the top of the Sphinx has an open platform, allowing you to take a non-stop glance at the Aletsch Glacier and other snow peaks. The top of the Sphinx in the center of Jungfrau-Aletsch in the Swiss Alps is a UNESCO heritage site, and its outdoor terrace is almost always frozen. I strongly recommend that you always wear suitable headwear, woolen products and gloves.

In addition to the frosted world of sculptural charm, this website is also home to transcending historical information. Every ice sculpture is a work of art. Be careful not to be swept by the smooth ice floor, because the ice sculpture will become your muse. The most interesting is the exhibition showing how this railway was cut in the ice cave.

Some important travel tips:

1. Never buy Jungfrau tickets in advance. The weather in the mountains is unpredictable and you may not want to lose money.

2. There are only a lot of people at the end of June, but it may be crowded with cars in August. In this case, the railway management department will add additional cable cars for large groups. But they must book in advance!

3. After visiting the mountains, ice palaces, ice gates and glacier plateau-taste delicious cheese fondue at the Crystal Restaurant in Jungfrau. The Crystal Restaurant has 110 seats and serves Swiss and international cuisine.

4. Alternatively, you can dine in the Bollywood restaurant with 80 seats and Indian cuisine, or in the 150-seat buffet restaurant Aletsch.
