KENT, Wash. (AP) — The King County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified more Nguyen as the man shot and killed by Kent police.
Nguyen, 27, died of multiple gunshot wounds and his death was ruled a homicide, The Seattle Times reported. Homicide simply means that one or several people cause the death of others.
Kent police said the shooting occurred after officers received a call earlier on June 13 about a car parked on the South Pacific Highway. The caller reported that the driver who pulled up appeared to be under the influence of intoxication. Shortly after officers arrived, an officer said on police radio: “Male has guns,” according to police.
A few minutes later, an officer said shots were fired, Kent police said. Nguyen died on the spot. Nguyen’s last known address was in West Seattle.
Investigators have not released more information about the shooting, which is being investigated by the Valley Independent Investigation Unit.
