my many Keto Recipes (including those in Easy Keto Carboholics Recipe! )call Unsweetened Sweetened Condensed Milk, people often ask me where I can buy it.Unfortunately you can’t (as far as I know), but the good news is that it’s super easy to make your own Low Carb Keto Condensed Milk Recipe at home! You only need 3 simple ingredients and 3 easy steps, but I do have some tips for you so it comes out like the real thing.
The most important ingredient in homemade low-carb condensed milk is the sweetener. Besti Luo Han Guo Powder Allulose Blend is the best choice for this recipe because unlike other keto sweetener, easy to dissolve completely, and does not crystallize after cooling. It also tastes like sugar, has no aftertaste and has zero net carbs.

ingredients you need
This section describes how to choose the best ingredients for homemade sweetened unsweetened milk, the role of each ingredient in the recipe, and substitution options. See recipe card below for measurements.
- Secondsay – Use no salt.
- heavy cream – This is sometimes called heavy cream.half half or most other Keto Milk Options Won’t work because the fat content is necessary for the sugar-free keto condensed milk to thicken. Coconut cream or full fat canned coconut milk should work as a dairy free alternative, but there is still butter in the recipe and I haven’t tried substituting it. Let me know (in the comments below) how it goes if you try the dairy free version!
- Besti Luo Han Guo Powder Allulose Blend – I wasn’t happy with the low carb sweetener options out there, so I made my own! This is my favorite and the only one I use now because it tastes and acts like sugar. As mentioned above, its most important feature for making unsweetened condensed milk is that it dissolves like sugar and doesn’t crystallize, which is the only reason why I recommend it to get the silky smooth texture you want. However, bland Powdered allulose It works just as well – you only need 33% more. Almost all other brands of sweeteners (including most brands of monk fruit and stevia) use erythritol as a bulking agent, which doesn’t dissolve and crystallize well, so I don’t recommend them.
- vanilla extract – This is not required and is not included in regular condensed milk, but can be stirred at the end if you want that flavor.

How to Make Sugar Free Sweetened Condensed Milk
This section shows how to make low-carb sweetened condensed milk with step-by-step photos and details on the technique. See the recipe card below for full instructions.
- Melt butter. Put the butter in a large frying pan over medium heat and let it melt.
Tip: A large frying pan is important.
Using a pan seems instinctive, but it requires a lot of longer (more than an hour). Due to the large surface area, using a large pan with high sides will help you cook keto-friendly sweetened condensed milk in a reasonable amount of time.
- Add cream and sweetener. Stir in heavy cream and besti powder.
- Boil ketogenic sweetened condensed milk. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer. Simmer until thick and coats the back of a spoon, reducing the volume by half.

Tips for the Best Keto Condensed Milk
- Avoid rough textures. As mentioned above, I recommend using besti powder or Powdered allulose, to ensure that the sweetener is completely dissolved and does not crystallize. Both of these issues can lead to a grainy texture if you use a different sugar substitute.
- Use a large pan. Remember to use a large pan or wok, not a small one, as smaller pans will take a long time.
- Cook long enough. If your condensed milk is too runny, it will take longer to cook. Continue to cook until it thickens. Plus, this keto condensed milk recipe thickens as it cools from hot to hot.
- But don’t cook for too long. If your condensed milk is cooked too long, it will brown and turn Sugar Free Caramel Sauce. No wrong – if that happens, enjoy the caramel.
- Don’t let the heat get too high. Similar to cooking it too long, using too high a heat can also turn your milk into a caramel sauce.
Can you make unsweetened condensed milk?
I haven’t tried it, but in theory yes you can make an unsweetened condensed milk recipe by omitting the sweetener. However, most uses of unsweetened condensed milk require it to be sweet.
How many carbs are in condensed milk?
Regular sweetened condensed milk has more than 20 grams of sugar (and carbohydrates) per 2 tablespoons [*]. This keto condensed milk recipe is much better – it’s only 1 net carbs for the same amount.
Storage Instructions
- Shop: Low-carb condensed milk stores well, and the time to open heavy cream is similar to that of heavy cream. It can be used for at least a week, or until the expiry date of the cream.
- What to do if it gets hard: Low carb sweetened condensed milk will not harden when cooked, but if reduced a lot, it will harden as it cools to room temperature. It will definitely harden in the fridge, which is normal for many recipes and can actually be beneficial. See instructions below for reheating, which will make it runny again.
- Reheat: Scoop the condensed milk (probably solid) into a saucepan and reheat on the stove over low heat. Be careful not to overheat and avoid using the microwave, both of which can cause it to separate.
- freeze: Yes, you can freeze this recipe! Store keto condensed milk in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 months.
