9 people, including a child, died of gunshot wounds after a man opened fire Plymouth Thursday night.
According to the police, two women and two men died at the scene in the Keyham area of the city, and the other man is believed to be the perpetrator.
Another woman was treated for gunshot wounds at the scene and later died in the hospital.
The force stated that it had notified its close relatives and would not look for anyone else in connection with the incident.
It confirmed that the incident had nothing to do with terrorism.
Local councillor Luke Pollard said that more and more people are being treated in hospitals due to injuries, and wrote on Twitter: “I am 10 years old when one of the people killed in the #keyham shooting was The following children were shocked.”
Shortly after 6 pm on Thursday, emergency services received a call from Biddick Drive in the Keyham area of the city.
Witnesses described hearing gunshots. Some people said she saw a man “randomly” start shooting people.
Devon and Cornwall police said that when they arrived at the scene, two women and two men had died. The male prisoner also died.
“It is believed that everyone died from gunshot wounds.
“Another woman was treated for gunshot wounds at the scene and died in the hospital shortly after.”
The “direct consequences” of the incident filmed by the force via mobile phones urged the public not to post it on social media and “respect the families who lost their loved ones tonight.”
On Thursday night, police and marked patrol cars were stationed on the road close to the incident site.

The public who live there are not allowed to enter their homes.
An eyewitness who claimed to be Sharon living near Bidick Avenue told the BBC: “First, someone shouted, followed by gunshots-at first it might be three or four.
“This is when the shooter kicked the door of a house and started shooting randomly… He ran out of the house while running, and then shot several people in the linear park in the driveway.”
Robert Pinkerton told the BBC that he “walked around the corner” and “ran into a guy with a shotgun.”
Mr. Pollard said on Twitter that the police had confirmed that six people were killed in the incident, adding that “more people are being treated in hospitals due to injuries”.
He said: “It’s terrible. My condolences and longing are with my family.”
In a video posted earlier on Twitter, Mr. Pollard, MP for Plymouth Sutton and Devonport, stated that Ford Primary School and St. Mark’s Church on Cambridge Road in Keyham will open at 9 am on Friday. He will join the police and local councillors to support the community.
He said that “handling what happened tonight” requires “time and space,” but “this will be a safe space for communities to gather together”.
The Southwest Ambulance Service Center stated that they received a call just after 6pm on Thursday and provided “a lot of resources”, including a Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), multiple ambulances, air ambulances, and multiple doctors. And senior nursing staff.
