Zouma has signed a contract until 2025 and joined Hamers with a £25 million transfer agreement, which will promote David Moyes‘Defense options.
After he discovered that the central defender had a knee problem in the final stage of his medical treatment, the deal was postponed.
Zuma suffered a rupture of the cruciate ligament in 2016, but has not experienced any serious knee problems since then, and has performed well in recent seasons.
After returning to France for personal reasons earlier this week, Zuma began to undergo medical examinations in Paris on Thursday, and the examinations continued until late at night-although all parties were still optimistic that the deal could be concluded.
West Ham United, which received the results in London at lunchtime on Friday, sent a staff member to the French capital to help with the process.
After a compromise was reached after the initial request for a weekly salary of £125,000, the 26-year-old reached a personal clause with Hammers.
Zuma said of his actions: “I just think he (Moyes) really wants me to join the team, especially a team that started the season very, very well.
“With the great season of West Ham last year, this gives the team a lot of confidence to make progress this year-I want to help the team do this.”
Moyes said: “(Zuma) is the player we followed for a while. We completed the transfer very carefully and diligently. He has always been our first choice and I am very happy that he is now our player.”
During the upcoming International Game Day, Zuma has been included in the French team, so he is likely to play with his new teammates before the game against Southampton on September 11.
