- lobster meat – This lobster salad is my favorite way to use up leftovers Grilled Lobster Tails, Air Fryer Lobster Tailsor Grilled Lobster Tails. Cut tail meat into bite-sized pieces to use in this recipe. If you have more than just a tail, you can also use claw meat. If you don’t have any on hand, you can buy a package of cooked lobster as a shortcut.
- celery – The crunchy texture contrasts nicely with the creaminess of the salad. If you don’t like celery or want to add more crunch, add 1/4 cup chopped red onion (or shallot).
- mayonnaise – This is the base of the lobster salad dressing.I use my own homemade mayonnaise, but store bought will do. You can also use Greek yogurt instead, if you prefer.
- lemon juice – I recommend fresh lemon juice for the best flavor, but you can also use bottled For convenience.
- dijon mustard – I prefer the taste of Dijon, but regular yellow mustard is fine too.
- sea salt and black pepper
- chili – Brings a subtle piquancy to enhance flavor. Feel free to add it if you like it hot!
- fresh chives – Chives are my favorite pairing, but you can substitute any fresh herb such as fresh tarragon, dill, parsley, shallots, or basil.
- bibb lettuce leaves – Also known as butter lettuce. These are optional if you plan to use as lettuce wraps!

How to Make Lobster Salad

- Mix the seasoning. In a large bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, lemon juice, mustard, salt, pepper, and cayenne. (You can also mix the dressing in a separate small bowl, but I prefer a salad bowl to cut down on doing the dishes!)
- Make lobster salad. Add lobster, celery and chives. Stir in mayonnaise mixture until pieces are well coated.


Tip: Refrigerate for 1 hour if you have time.
You can serve immediately, but if you have time to chill for an hour, this will allow the flavors to develop and make the dish even better.
- Serve. Spoon over buttered lettuce leaves, or try some of the other serving suggestions below.

- sandwich – This dish is a great choice for a picnic, especially when served on a split hot dog bun (much like a lobster roll!).For a lighter option, spread it between sheets 90 Second Bread or fluffy cloud bread.
