Man arrested for “contaminating food with a syringe” in a supermarket in West London

Man arrested on suspicion of contaminating food with syringes in three western supermarkets London A council said.

Hammersmith & Fulham City Council stated that it was reported that a man called the police before 8pm after insulting others on the street.

He allegedly went to three supermarkets, including Tesco Whiterose And Sainsbury, in Fulham Palace Road And use many syringes to inject food.

The man has been detained by the police on charges of attempting to cause public harm or anxiety.

The supermarket is closed and the crime scene is in place.

According to the city council, the affected items are believed to be processed meat and microwave oven products.

It is not clear how many items were contaminated or what substances were contaminated.

Hammersmith and Fulham City Council posted an “emergency alert” notice on their social media accounts on Wednesday night.

It said: “As a precaution, the public is advised to dispose of any food purchased from these supermarkets tonight.

“The environmental health team of the H&F Committee is working with the affected supermarket branches.”

The Metropolitan Police Department has been contacted for comments.
