The 74-year-old said: “This is the longest rescue operation we have ever done, but we are very satisfied with the progress made.
“The cave explorer is very unlucky here. He is an experienced caver, a healthy one. This is a problem of putting his feet in the wrong place.
“He is not in the danger zone of the cave, it’s just that something has moved from under him.”
