One of Italy’s most popular fast food chains will expand outside the country for the first time as it opens a restaurant in Italy Covent Garden.
Pasta group Miscusi will open a new store in Slingsby Place in November, which will be their 13th restaurant; the other 12 are located in seven cities in Italy. These restaurants serve classic Italian cuisine, including fresh pasta, and are said to have served more than 1 million dishes since the first website was launched four years ago. Like its more than a dozen brothers and sisters, the new website is expected to offer a range of different pasta and sauces that customers can mix and match. The price of each dish is expected to be around £10.
The Milan-born group said it prides itself on its simple dishes, is popular in its hometown — it has about 95,000 followers on Instagram — and is a B-Corp company; B-Corp certification shows that The promise of “Social and Environmental Performance”.Miscusi said the new restaurant will “work hard to achieve plastic-free and Zero waste“Once opened.
The group is led by 31-year-old entrepreneur Alberto Cartasegna, who was included in the Forbes list of young people under 30 in 2019.
Cartasegna told the standard: “London is known for being one of the best gastronomic cities in the world, so choosing the UK as our first launch outside of Italy is really effortless. I feel about the way we grew up in it. I am very satisfied with Italy for the past four years, and coming to London now is a big step for us and the first place I thought of when I decided to bring miscusi to an international location.
“This is also a city with incredible memories for me, because this is where I got my first restaurant job! At the age of 18, I took a one-year absence from school and came to London at Oliveto in Belgravia. Pizzeria works as a kitchen assistant. It’s really a special thing for me to return to London in ten years and open my own restaurant in the city centre.”
He continued: “Our guests will come back time and time again, because I hope that we will do simple things well-high-quality ingredients and traditional pasta recipes in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
