ChatGPT is the fastest technology to reach 100 million users. From 2022 to 2023, ChatGPT will almost single-handedly change the trajectory of mainstream computing and the way people interact with information. Suddenly, everyday users can switch between consuming data and co-creating it with the help of generative AI tools. Although OpenAI has been in development for many years, it captured the zeitgeist with ChatGPT, and everything has changed since then.
By 2024, we will see a shift from curiosity to strategic execution. Generative AI will get “smarter”, of course, but so will its users. They will discover new abilities, unlock new possibilities, and accomplish work that was previously impossible. Treat this time as getting “cognitive exoskeleton'It takes some getting used to. We will become stronger and stronger. 🦾
With every new try and experiment, we will achieve new results, realize new opportunities, and inspire new behaviors, skills, and tasks!
But generative AI is just a stage Mustafa Suleimanco-founder of DeepMind, current CEO and co-founder Shapeshifting artificial intelligence.
He believes the next stage is interactive artificial intelligence, where robots perform specific tasks for you by autonomously collaborating with other software and people to complete workflows.
Imagine professional AI working with other professional AIs, gradually handing off tasks as they are completed, until the entire job is complete.
A simple example of an autonomous workflow could be prompted by a request to book a trip to a specific destination within a time frame and budget. The system learns about preferences, loyalties, and favorite spots. It then finds the best routes, times and prices, books flights, then books transfers to and from the airport, books hotels, makes dinner reservations, populates all the information into a calendar, and then prepares a neat itinerary that explains every detail.
The user can then ask the bot to make any necessary changes, which will then be carried out automatically.
First wave: Suleiman describes the first wave of artificial intelligence as a classification and training wave.
Second wave: Generative AI takes input data and generates new data.
Wave 3: Interactive AI, where conversations become the user interface and autonomous robots connect to each other to perform tasks behind the scenes. Voice becomes the user interface. (This was the focus of Suleyman's work on Pi).
Wave 4: Although Suleiman doesn't say so, I don't think robots need guidance on the horizon. Instead, AI will learn how to help you collaborate to achieve results. Artificial intelligence forces us to learn how to push ourselves to get where we want to be, iterating to achieve new end goals unimaginable in previous rounds.

Version 1 does not reflect the whole picture, but a snapshot of a moment in time.
