I usually start the new year by planning my goals and intentions for the year. I cringe when I think about doing it this year. Honestly, the last thing I need right now is to write down goals for a year starting with my toddler school closed for at least a week, maybe more. It’s okay, we’ll be fine, but having been through the pandemic for two years, if I’ve learned anything, it’s that I have absolutely no control over this much.
When Marin starts nursery in the fall, I think it’s going to be a game changer for us. Craig and I have a lot of plans for blogging and other business ideas. We wonder how we’re going to use all our “free time”. Marin has only completed one full week of daycare since September. It took me a while to realize that I had to accept our reality. It’s really challenging to have a child under 5 now. We were lucky too, I fully admit that. Some days are still tough. In less than a month, Marin was 2 years old. The past two years have flown by, and while the days sometimes feel long, our time with her feels short.
My only goal in 2022 is to reduce stress. I spend too much time putting pressure on myself to do more, be more successful, be a better mom, reach the next goal, achieve the next big thing. The definition of success is subjective. What if I’ve done enough? What if I have enough? We’re all doing our best, and that’s enough. I hope that, whether or not you set any goals for this year, you allow yourself to reduce stress too.
what will happen this year
I am very excited about the direction of the blog and my business. Since I decided to leave Instagram It has cleared my mind a lot. The source of my creativity springs up again. It feels so good. Less Instagram time means more time for other things I’ve wanted to do over the years. Here’s what you can expect this year.

Youku is back
i’m taking my YouTube channel! I really like adding a video component to my content, and the feedback I hear overwhelmingly supports this move. I’ll be sharing more about this decision in the coming months, but when I’m off Instagram, you’ll be able to find my videos there. I’ll be doing styling and clothing ideas, home decor and renovation content, beauty, and more. One of my favorite things about YouTube is that you can enjoy videos at your own pace whenever it’s convenient for you. It’s also a search engine, not an app, which means it’s easier to find what you’re looking for.

We start planning and designing in late 2021 and I look forward to sharing more behind the scenes this time around. I plan to travel to Nashville in early March to meet the team to review the samples and finalize the design. This will be real Well, I can’t wait to share more.
