A South Carolina lawyer was accused of being shot and faces new charges.

A prosecutor said on Friday that Alex Murdaugh, an attorney suspended in South Carolina, was charged with 27 counts of embezzlement of public funds and other crimes, in addition to previous charges of insurance fraud in order to conspiracy arrangements Own death.
South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson said in a statement that a state grand jury indicted Murdor for defrauding legal clients and partners and a plan to launder more than $4.8 million in money.
Murdo, 53, is a descendant of a legal dynasty in South Carolina. His wife and son were murdered in June and are still being held at the Alvin S. Glen Detention Center in Columbia, South Carolina. He was suspended from legal work in September.
Wilson said that the new indictment charged him with crimes such as breach of trust, fraudulent intent, money laundering, computer crime and forgery. Murdow’s lawyer did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
According to court records, Murdo was accused of embezzling settlement funds related to his housekeeper, Gloria Satterfield, who died in 2018 after a “trip” accident in Murdo.
According to local reports, Satterfield’s heirs claimed in the probate court in South Carolina that Murdo transferred more than $3.5 million in death compensation to a fraudulent account.
Murdo was also accused of arranging to shoot himself on September 4 so that his son Buster Murdo could get insurance payments.
Murdo’s lawyer had previously stated that after his wife and another son, Paul, were shot and killed, Murdo’s elders were injured and survived due to depression. He arranged the shooting.
Satterfield’s family lawyers are happy with the new prosecution and believe it is a step towards justice.
