New member of ISRD Board of Directors

The annual elections of the International Special Review Region (ISRD) Committee are held by mail, and the ballots were announced on November 30. Five positions were elected and the results were as follows:

  • Ryan Gilbert won the first place for the business owner, owner or employee;
  • Ming Zhang won the second place among residents, tenants or community participants;
  • Michael Le won the 3rd place for business owners, owners or employees;
  • Andy Yip won the 4th place among residents, tenants or community participants;
    And Nella Kwan won the 5th place in the ranking of common users on the Internet.

Due to the postponement of the 2020 general election, the terms of positions 3 and 5 will be only one year in order to retain the staggered term limit. The newly elected candidates began their terms of office in December of this year.

The outgoing board members are Tanya Woo, Matt Chan, Faye Hong and Russ Williams.

The particularity of Chinatown International District is recognized and protected by city regulations. In 1973, the ISRD Committee was established to preserve, protect and promote the cultural, economic and historical qualities of the region. The term of office of the members of the board of directors is usually two years, and the members can serve up to two consecutive terms.
