On the Reliability of Non-Renewable Energy Production: Texas, June 18, 2023

From WFAA, “Why Nuclear Plants in Texas Shut Down on Friday”:

Unplanned nuclear outages are rare, and the timing of the event has raised concerns. Texas could set records for electricity demand twice this week as temperatures soar into triple digits.

Ed Hess, an energy researcher at the University of Houston, said: “We now need all (generators) to come to work every day.”
