One year later than the original plan, the Tokyo Olympics will begin tomorrow, and the opening ceremony officially kicked off.
The coronavirus pandemic means that this will be a very different event from the original plan, with no fans and no fear of the increasingly serious Covid outbreak.
The World Health Organization described the Olympics as a “celebration of hope” and showed the world what can be achieved with the right plans and measures during the pandemic.
The celebrations have already begun in the first few rounds of some sports, but the party actually started on Friday.

TV channel: The opening ceremony will be broadcast live on BBC One and Eurosport.
