Tens of thousands of protesters marched on the streets of Glasgow, demanding action to deal with the climate emergency because the city is hosting the Cop26 summit.
The crowd walked from Kelvingrove Park to Glasgow Green, and organizers estimated that more than 100,000 people entered the park during the parade.

“As a result, 21 people were arrested and released.
“I want to thank the vast majority of people who participated in the youth parade and climate parade for their positive attitude and following the instructions of our officials.”
The police refused to estimate how many people participated in the parade, but the organizers of the Cop26 Coalition claimed that despite the bad weather, more than 100,000 people participated in the parade and it is estimated that 300 events are taking place around the world.
Asad Rehman, spokesperson for the Cop26 Coalition, said: “Today, thousands of people on all continents take to the streets to demand that the government shift from climate inaction to climate justice.
“We will no longer tolerate warm words and long-term goals. We must act now.”
