An Illinois man allegedly used a 9mm semi-automatic pistol to shoot his half-brother in the head during a heated debate surrounding Covid-19 vaccination. Insider Edition Report.
Larry D. Cavitt (Larry D. Cavitt), 68, was charged with first-degree murder and aggravated assault with a firearm, according to Illinois State Police.
According to the police, Joseph E. Geyman, a 51-year-old correctional officer, died of a gunshot wound.
Johnson County Sheriff Pete Sopczak said that late on Saturday night (August 28), the half-brothers argued over the coronavirus vaccine, and then Cavite allegedly shot and killed him. Gaiman, Associated Press Report.
Sopczak said there was no physical conflict prior to the “meaningless” shooting.
Police said Cavite was initially detained in Masak County Jail, but he was released on Tuesday after he handed over his bail. At Monday’s hearing, the bail was set at 750,000 U.S. dollars (11 million rand), and Cavite was asked not to own a gun and stay away from Gaiman’s wife and children. Southern Illinois Report.
Cavite’s next court appearance, the preliminary hearing, is scheduled for September 15.
Gaiman is the father of four children, and he is described as “a kind-hearted, hardworking, and talented person.” Tribute to him On Facebook.
“Joe Gaiman is one of the greatest people around,” Thorpezak said, according to a report from The Southern Illinois.
His funeral was held on Friday.
