Nine people were taken to the hospital after a car rushed into the crowd outside a bar in South Wales.
At around 8:30 in the evening, the police received a serious incident on Pontyclun Llantrisant Road, which triggered a huge emergency service response.
South Wales police said six people have been taken to the University of Wales Hospital.
The force said that one of the pedestrians suffered life-changing injuries.
Four people were taken to the hospital as a preventive measure after suffering “minor injuries”.
The driver of the car is a 79-year-old man in a critical condition.
It is believed that he suffered a medical accident that caused the car he drove, a silver Ford Puma, with The Windsor bar.
South Wales Police Chief Inspector James Latti said: “Emergency service Just before 8:30 tonight, they were called into this serious incident and faced a scene involving multiple casualties.
“We work with colleagues in the ambulance and fire department to deal with casualties as quickly and efficiently as possible.
“This is a very sad incident, and we are very grateful to the public who helped the injured immediately after the collision.”
The force added that an investigation into the collision has now been initiated.
The pictures at the scene showed several ambulances and fire trucks. A cordon was set up around the street.
The owner of the nearby The Windsor bar wrote on Facebook: “Hello everyone. I have received some news about the situation tonight. Everyone has been taken to the hospital, and the emergency services are processing the case.
“Thank you for your help. Thanks to all the stands who helped and all emergency services. Thanks to Tia and the x team.”
leader Welshconservative Andrew RT Davis said in a tweet: “Shocking news from Pontiacron tonight.
