The TV host Charlene White stated on social networking sites that the protests took place during the live broadcast of “Loose Women.”
She wrote on Twitter: “Thank you very much Andy And the security team of the TV center.
“When we broadcast live with @loosewomen, the protesters tried to enter the building-we just left for security reasons.
“Andy and his team are amazing, thank you xx.”
She later added: “I am also very grateful to @metpoliceuk in London for their prompt response… it is not an easy situation for them.
“I don’t know what the protesters hope to achieve, but all they found is me. simple Nadia and Petunia talk about menopause on @loosewomen. “
Police said some demonstrators later arrived at the BBC’s current headquarters in Portland Plaza, but left after a few hours.
No one was arrested.
Speaking of the rally outside the old headquarters, a spokesperson for the Metropolis said: “During the earlier demonstration in Baicheng, a policeman suffered minor facial injuries. This will be investigated.”
