Reuters reporter Alvin Scott The following was sent out on Friday:
Dear colleagues,
Nearly ten years later, today is my last day at Reuters. It is an honor and a great pleasure to work with you. You are the talented, dedicated and lovely people who made Reuters a great news organization. In the COVID-19 crisis and new labor contract negotiations, the character is most obvious.
Reuters in 2012 is slightly different from today. I came here when there was a surge in recruitment of people with different journalistic backgrounds.I thank the former Reuters editor Jim Gaines with Paul Ingracia Gave me a chance, special thanks to Paul for bringing Joe White A few years later, I took on a role that allowed me to make some great stories with him.
Thank you for your wonderful friendship. I will miss this kind of friendship very much. When there are so many important stories to tell, it is difficult to leave the press. But for most of my career, I have been reporting on companies, and I can’t resist the opportunity to see how they work internally. Starting on September 20th, I will join Allstate as the director of financial communications and work remotely in New York. I admire Paritosh for putting me on the insurance beat, which turned out to be very attractive and related to almost everything.
Before joining Reuters, Scott was the executive editor of Puget Sound Business Journal, The Seattle Times, And the European news editor of the Wall Street Journal.
