How to Cut Cauliflower for Roasting

This is the easiest way to cut cauliflower into florets. You don’t even have to remove the leaves and stems – they fall off when you cut the core.

How to Roast Cauliflower in the Oven

  1. Prepare. Preheat oven. Cut the heads of cauliflower into florets as shown above.
  2. season. Place cauliflower in a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder (if using), salt and pepper. Throw on the coat.

How long to roast cauliflower?

Roast the cauliflower in a 400°F oven for 25-30 minutes. Keep in mind that times will vary depending on the size of the cauliflower florets.

Seasoning Variations

  • Lemon, Garlic & Paprika – Prepare the same seasoning as before Air Fryer Cauliflower: Add 3/4 teaspoon paprika or smoked paprika, 2 teaspoons lemon juice (or 1/2 to 1 teaspoon lemon zest), and optional 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder from the recipe below.
  • italian seasoning – Add 1/2 tsp store bought or Homemade Italian Seasoning.
  • Roasted Cauliflower with Parmesan – Prepare the same bechamel for Whole Roasted Cauliflower: In a small bowl, combine 3 crushed garlic cloves, 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, 1 teaspoon dried basil, 1 teaspoon dried parsley, 1 teaspoon dried thyme, 1/2 teaspoon sea salt, and 1 / 4 tsp black pepper. Drizzle the sauce over the florets before roasting.
  • Buffalo Roasted Cauliflower – if you want spicy roasted cauliflower you can use the same flavor combination as mine Buffalo Cauliflower Recipe. Follow the instructions above. Then, heat 1/2 cup buffalo sauce with 1/4 cup unsalted butter. Toss the cauliflower in the buffalo sauce.
  • curry spiced – Add 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of curry powder.
  • Chili Lime – Mix together 1/4 tsp sea salt, 1 tsp paprika, 1 tsp smoked paprika, 1/2 tsp onion powder, 1/2 tsp garlic powder and 1/8 tsp paprika. Sprinkle dressing over cauliflower florets and roast. Finally, garnish with fresh cilantro.
  • Mexican – use 1/2 tsp store bought or Homemade Seasoned Taco Substitute garlic powder to give this cauliflower-inspired meatless taco a Mexican twist.

storage instructions

  • shop: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • Reheat: Heat roasted cauliflower in a 350°F oven until warmed. Microwave works in a pinch, but the texture is best with the oven method.
  • freeze: Let the cauliflower cool completely, then store in the refrigerator for up to 3 months. Freezing raw cauliflower is not recommended, so you will have to blanch it if you want to freeze it before roasting.
