
APPLY NOW: Scholarships to Adapt to Existing Earth Networks for the Built Environment
This Adapt to the existing built environment Earth NetworkSponsored by the Columbia Climate Institute, one or two graduate students (at the master’s or doctoral level) are being recruited to support the network’s work. A core group launched the network in 2021 to foster innovative and interdisciplinary learning opportunities to help students tackle the social, economic and environmental aspects of decarbonizing and retrofitting existing buildings.
Existing Built Environment Fellows will be responsible for helping to co-develop, coordinate, and implement networking activities, including but not limited to: outreach to faculty and researchers on and off campus; gathering existing courses, projects, research, and community-based activities relevant to networking interests data; prepare communications, meetings, and events; organize systems and processes to stay connected; and more. Fellows are expected to work 10 to 15 hours a week and pay $21.50 an hour.
Applications will be accepted until July 31st. This position begins in the fall semester and continues through the 2022-2023 school year. Positions will involve some remote work and some in-person work.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate an understanding of climate issues and policy and/or the built environment, a commitment to environmental and climate justice, and excellent communication, writing and organizational skills, including collaboration and team building skills.
