Zoynx! It’s been two decades since Scooby and Shaggy unraveled the mystery of Ghost Island in the series’ first live-action film,”Scooby-doo. ” To celebrate the anniversary, Matthew Lillard embarks on a new assignment — serving as the Airbnb host for the gang’s iconic mysterious machine.
Lillard is serving up Y2K nostalgia and inviting select guests into a world he knows so well for an unforgettable camping trip off the Southern California coast this summer.
“I’ve been guiding Shaggy since the live-action adaptation in 2002, and he’s been a part of me ever since,” Lillard said. “I can’t wait to welcome guests into the world of mysterious corporate gangs as their Airbnb hosts and give them a summer vacation they’ll never forget… excluding monsters!”
Never open to the public overnight, the iconic mystery machine has been retired (along with Shaggy’s spirit), transporting guests back to 2002. Shaggy and Scooby embrace life on the road before the weather cools down, and Mystery Machine has a night out for both fans to experience all the creepy thrills.

Guests can book three separate one-night stays* on June 24, June 25 and June 26 for $20** per night to celebrate the live-action film’s 20th anniversary. During their stay, guests will be able to live like Shaggy and Scooby in the Mystery Machine, including:
- Lillard’s virtual greeting upon arrival — he might even share his favorite memories with nosy kids
