She said: “Let me emphasize again that we have not decided at this stage to expand the scope of the plan.
“However, in order for us to openly communicate with companies on the pros, cons and practicality in the next few days, I can confirm that the types of environments that may be applicable will be indoor cinemas, theaters and other licensed reception venues. “

Of the companies surveyed by the Scottish Chamber of Commerce (SCC), nearly two-thirds (65%) oppose increased use of vaccine passports, more work from home and more use of face masks.
The hotel agency also opposed the move, saying that any expansion of the vaccine passport program would have a “disruptive impact.”
Ms. Sturgeon told MSP: “I am keenly aware that many companies want us to cancel mitigation measures-including certification-rather than extend or tighten them.
“I understand that. But all our decisions must and must be based on the desire to protect people’s safety, but also to survive the challenging winter without having to re-impose any restrictions on trade.
“If possible, we hope that the company will remain fully operational at Christmas and throughout the winter, while also controlling Covid.
“If the extension of the Covid certification can help us do this, it would be irresponsible not to consider it.”
She added: “Although we very much hope to get through the winter without reintroducing any further restrictions, as some other countries are now beginning to do so, we do have a responsibility to review appropriate options, and we will do so.”
The Chief Minister also told the Scottish Parliament that she asked employers to reconsider supporting more employees to work from home.
She said that so far, there is no indication that the Cop26 conference in Glasgow has led to an increase in Covid-19 cases.
