From recyclable to biodegradable packaging, Philippine company pioneer, Personal Collection takes big strides to reshape future with green initiative
Personal Collection Direct Selling, Inc. (PC) has successfully transitioned from recyclable packaging to the latest in biodegradable packaging, making it the first company in the Philippines to do so. By turning to biodegradable packaging, PC is leading the world away from environmentally harmful plastics. Its new biodegradable packaging is estimated to decompose in landfills after only five to ten years, while regular plastic packaging may last at least a thousand years.
Figures from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (FPA) challenge the conventional wisdom that recycling alone can eliminate plastic waste, for example, Americans recycle only 35 percent of the more than 267 million tons of solid waste each year. At the national level, only 40% of packaging waste in the Philippines is collected and only 9% of plastic waste is recycled, according to a 2020 WWF Philippines study.
Keeping this in mind, PC goes one step further, not only being recyclable, but also turning to biodegradable packaging. Through the “Green Life is Better Life” campaign launched last June 2020, a network of PC sellers has been mobilized to promote the benefits of biodegradable packaging to help protect the environment. On October 26, 2021, PC conducted its first coastal cleanup at Albiga Beach in Siaton, Negros Oriental. This was followed by a Siliman beach cleanup on 16 November 2021 in Dumaguete City, followed by a coastal cleanup on 14 December 2021 at Villarreal Beach in Baia Bay. In all these clean-ups, tons of plastic waste and other toxic substances are collected.

I have been using personal collection I am happy with their products since last year, they are cheaper than popular brands but their products do offer especially their detergents and fabcon.
