Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has demonstrated the cutting-edge Blue Spear (5G SSM) surface-to-surface missile for the first time.
The system was co-developed with ST Engineering, a leading Singaporean defence company, and marketed by joint venture Proteus Advanced Systems, highlighting both companies’ excellence in naval and air defence. This is a momentous moment for IAI and its partners, with BLUE SPEAR (5G SSM) making its first appearance at the IAI booth at the Singapore Airshow, one of Asia’s most influential defence exhibitions.

About Blue Spear (5G SSM)
The Blue Spear (5G SSM) system is an advanced member of the next-generation surface-to-surface missile system, which builds on the legacy of the combat-proven Gabriel missile family. The missile system is agile, highly penetrating, combined anti-ship and land attack capabilities, and has a range of 290 kilometers at subsonic speeds.
It deploys a state-of-the-art radar seeker and advanced weapons control system to provide precise target detection and engagement. It can operate in all weather conditions, day or night. It has over-the-horizon strike capabilities against moving and stationary targets, and offers sea- and land-based launch options.
Against increasingly sophisticated countermeasures, the missile is capable of locating and attacking targets in coastal, oceanic and land environments, and is specifically designed for victory in contested, crowded and complex situations. BLUE SPEAR (5G SSM) also offers significant military off-the-shelf solution (MOTS) advantages in terms of cost, acquisition time, operational service and risk reduction.
