Hello earthlings! I have some news that may be a lifesaver for those affected by Typhoon Karina. The Social Security System (SSS) is launching a disaster loan program specifically to assist members in the National Capital Region and other areas that may be subject to a state of disaster declaration.
SSS President and CEO Rolando Ledesma Macasaet said members in affected areas can borrow credit for one month’s salary, with a maximum limit of P20,000. This is a great initiative to help you get back on your feet after such a challenging time.
Macasaet emphasized: “SSS will always be ready to assist members in areas affected by typhoon. We want to assure them that in the event of a disaster, they can rely on SSS to provide them with what they need during the recovery process from Typhoon Karina. Financial Aid.
To qualify for this loan, the following conditions must be met:
- You will need to make at least 36 donations per month, 6 of which were posted in the past 12 months before applying.
- You must live in a declared disaster area.
- Your age should be below 65 years when applying for a loan.
- You must not have any claim for final benefits, such as permanent total disability or retirement.
- You should not have any past due SSS Short Term Member Loans.
- There are no outstanding restructuring or disaster loans.
If you meet these criteria, you can easily apply through your My.SSS account www.sss.gov.ph. Once your loan is approved, funds will be deposited directly into your registered Unified Multipurpose Identification (UMID)-ATM card or a valid account at a PESONet participating bank.
Macasaet also mentioned that you can repay the loan in 24 equal monthly installments over two years, with an annual interest rate of 10%.
“We hope that through disaster loan assistance, we can help our members affected by the typhoon recover from the adverse effects of Typhoon Karina,” Makasat concluded.
Please stay safe and remember that SSS is here to support you and help you get through these difficult times. careful!
