Bio-MEMS DiagnosticsMichigan-based diagnostic developer, opened an assay development/optimization lab at Western Colorado University’s Gunnison, Colorado campus. The laboratory will create high-performance analytical chemistry and optimized antibodies for the company’s electrochemical assays. These assays are integrated with BioMEMS’ proprietary microelectromechanical sensor array, housed in a single-use test cartridge that captures and processes biological fluid samples.
Dr. Zane Baird also joined the company as Director of the Analytical Development Laboratory and moved to Gunnison. Baird has been working with BioMEMS for the past few months, and this new full-time position will help accelerate comprehensive product development efforts.
As part of the move, the company expanded its diagnostics product line to include a chronic inflammation test panel. There is also work in progress to demonstrate the feasibility of saliva-based testing for vitamin B1, B6 and B12 deficiencies.Previously, BioMEMS had
