Despite the urgent need to cut carbon emissions, seven airport expansions are underway in the UK. People living in the shadows of Heathrow, Gatwick, Bristol, Southampton, Stansted, Manston and Luton are giving up their time and energy trying to stop these catastrophic of projects received planning approval.
NEF has been working with these small local groups. Our researchers exposed false claims the airport used to justify the environmental impact and economic benefits of its expansion, and acted as expert witnesses in planning investigations. Together we have forced the cancellation of plans to expand Leeds Bradford Airport.
But more groups come to the NEF for emergency support than our resources to help.So we are delighted to be selected as this year’s Big Give #GreenMatchFund. From noon on Friday 22nd April until noon on Friday 29th April, Big Give will match all donations towards our £10,000 target.
