After the death of the Rolling Stones drummer at the age of 80, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards paid tribute to Charlie Watts.
The three have been band members since 1963 and have co-created epoch-making tracks including (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction, Paint It Black, Jumpin’ Jack Flash and Brown Sugar.
On Monday, Watts died peacefully in a London hospital accompanied by his family. He was considered the gentlest person in the Rolling Stones, providing an essential balance for his more enthusiastic band members.
Sir Mick paid tribute to his colleagues of nearly 60 years on social media, sharing photos of Watts sitting behind the drum set smiling. The 78-year-old Rolling Stones lead singer did not add a title.
In his tribute, 77-year-old Richards posted a photo of Watts drum set with a “closed” sign hung on it.
He also did not include the title.
When the rest of the rock industry lined up to pay their respects to Watts, they paid tribute to them.
Beatles drummer Ringo Starr Pay tribute to Mr. Watts on Twitter and attach a photo of the two.
He wrote: “God bless Charlie Watts, we will miss you, family peace and love, Ringo.”
gentlemen Elton John Wrote: “A very sad day. Charlie Watts is the ultimate drummer.
“The most fashionable man, such an outstanding company. I extend my deepest condolences to Shirley, Serafina and Charlotte. Of course, there is also the Rolling Stones.”
Paul McCartney filmed a special video to express his love to Mr. Watts’ family and wife.
He said: “So sad to hear Charlie Va, the stone drummer, dying. He is a lovely guy.
“I knew he was sick, but I didn’t know he was so sick, so I am full of love for his family, his wife and children, and his extended family, and express condolences to Stones, which is for them It will be a huge blow because Charlie is a rock musician and an excellent drummer, as solid as a rock.

In her tribute, Yoko Ono, widow of John Lennon, expressed condolences to Watts’ relatives.
She said: “Rest in peace, Charlie Watts. We extend our deepest condolences to Shirley, Serafina, Charlotte and all the family of the Rolling Stones. Love, Yoko.”
Pierce Morgan wrote: “A talented musician and an amazing character, he is the calm, calm, beating heartbeat of the Stones band. Very sad news.”
Nile Rogers added: “Rest in power #CharlieWatts RIP. You are a gentle brother. Thanks for all the wonderful music.”
Mr. Watts died in a London hospital accompanied by his family.
The statement read: “We are very sad to announce the death of our beloved Charlie Watts. Earlier on Tuesday, he died peacefully in a London hospital with his family.
“Charlie is a respected husband, father and grandfather, and as a member of the Rolling Stones, he is also one of the greatest drummers of his generation.
“We kindly ask to respect the privacy of his family, band members and close friends during this difficult time.”
Kenney Jones is known for his work as a drummer at Small Faces and The Who. He called Watts “a cute, smart, amazing guy” and “ultimate drummer” to pay tribute to him.
In an interview with BBC News, Jones said that he had spoken to Watts on his birthday and that he “sounds in good spirits, and it doesn’t sound like I want him to sound as healthy.”
He added: “But I thought we would meet again.”
Jones said: “The reason why he became such an excellent drummer is because he has a good feeling for himself and others. Everything is related to feelings, everything is related to emotions-you have to play your emotions, you have to Show how you feel.
“And Charlie is a good person. He must transform everyone’s emotions and feelings for the other members of the band, and express them in the correct rhythm and in the correct position.”
“He is the core and soul of the Rolling Stones. His drumming is as important as Mick Jagger’s voice, Keith Richards’ guitar performance and Ronnie Wood’s guitar performance.”
Guitarist and former member of The Smiths Johnny Marr praised Watts’ performance on and off stage.
He wrote on Twitter: “In addition to being a unique musician, Charlie Watts has maintained an elegant temperament throughout his career with the Rolling Stones. Quite an accomplishment.”
Stuart Copeland, who played the drums in the rock band Policeman, wrote on Twitter: “Very sad to lose the unique, iconic drummer. (and dancers) he is a quiet giant.”
Guns N’Roses guitarist Slash wrote on Instagram: “The face of rock music has changed forever today. A devastating loss, RIP Charlie Watts.”
Alice Cooper paid tribute in a statement when she said: “We have lost a true rock gentleman.
“Charlie Watts has maintained the beat of the world’s greatest rock band for more than 50 years. I think he is the greatest pocket drummer of all time.”
