A recent court order ruled that the governor of Los Angeles Gavin Newson During the COVID-19 period, the parents’ right to close the school was violated.
Ten parents who attended public schools and five parents who attended private schools accused Newsom and other elected officials of preventing their children from receiving a “minimum basic education.” The court documents also pointed out that, in accordance with the due process clause of the Fourteenth Amendment, the fundamental rights of parents have been violated.
The parents also accused Newsom and other elected officials of treating their children differently based on children in nearby school districts, nurseries and summer camps, which violated the equal protection clause.
