On Monday, a New Jersey woman became the first person associated with the “Three Percenters” militia to agree to plead guilty in connection with the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol by supporters of then President Donald Trump.
U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols told prosecutor Michael Liebman and defense attorney Elita Amato at a brief hearing on Wednesday that they are scheduled to face Lebanon-born Fairfield, New Jersey, on August 23. Field resident Rasha Abual-Ragheb held a plea hearing.
The charges against which Abual-Ragheb will plead guilty are not specified, but she faces four misdemeanor charges related to the riots.
An FBI agent stated in an affidavit that in November 2020, a Facebook account named Rasha Abu participated in an online chat “involving the 3% New Jersey chapter of the American Patriots.” The FBI stated that Rashaab said in a chat that “a civil war is coming, and they need to show support and stand up and fight for our constitution.”

The FBI stated that on January 6, a confidential source told its Philadelphia office that he had met with a woman who called herself “Rasa” outside a hotel in Washington and “said she saw a woman in the U.S. Capitol. Women were shot.”
More than 570 people are facing charges due to the riots, and Trump supporters tried to prevent Congress from proving the election victory of Democratic President Joe Biden. At least 36 people have pleaded guilty to charges related to the riots.
Investigators have linked seven defendants who are still facing riot-related charges with the “three centers,” whose name comes from the wrong view that only 3% of American colonists took up arms against Britain during the American Revolution.
