Former Chicago Bulls and Atlanta Hawks player Corey Benjamin issued a statement apologizing for his daughter’s behavior. He said that he is seeking his daughter “any help she may need and support her to take responsibility for her actions.”
Benjamin said in the statement: “For the young lady who was punched by my daughter in the youth basketball game, I sincerely apologize to you, and I pray that you will fully recover physically and emotionally.”
Benjamin’s daughter and the alleged victim, 15-year-old Laurin Ham, are playing club basketball at a stadium in Garden Grove, California. In the police report submitted by the victim’s mother Alice Ham, Benjamin’s daughter’s mother told her to beat another player.When interviewed by local news media NBC 4 Los AngelesAllegedly, the match referee heard his mother say, “You better go hit her.”
Lauryn allegedly suffered a concussion during the attack.
“For her family, I deeply apologize and regret that this happened to your daughter, because she shouldn’t have happened to this kind of thing,” Benjamin’s statement continued. “Finally, I apologize to all those who have been affected and hurt by the actions of my daughter and her mother.”
In response to Benjamin’s statement, the Ham family’s lawyers accepted it, calling it “a beginning.”
“We want to hold the responsible party accountable,” said Ham’s lawyer Kevin Hahn (Kevin Hahn). However, the lawsuit will continue, and the family hopes to see the consequences for both mother and daughter.
In response to this incident, AVAC United has banned Benjamin’s daughter from participating in future competitions.

“As a father, I was shocked and disappointed by my daughter’s behavior because it did not reflect the values and standards held by my family. It also did not reflect the values, character and sportsmanship required for basketball games,” said Benjamin. The statement said.
“We take these issues seriously and have taken action to prohibit this player and her mother from participating in or participating in any future tournaments organized by our organization,” the organization’s chief executive Gary Thomas said in a statement.
Benjamin’s career also includes working in overseas teams.
