Police said a 9-year-old boy in Chicago was knocked down by a pickup truck while riding a bicycle nearby on Wednesday. The driver was identified as an off-duty policeman.
According to the Police Brotherhood, the 48-year-old police officer is still unnamed. He was not seen before he hit the boy with a Toyota Tundra, but remained at the scene after the accident.
According to reports, the incident occurred at around 8pm on Wednesday night near West Ridge outside Chicago. His family told the police that he was cycling home after playing at a friend’s house. Chicago Sun Times.

The chairman of the Chicago Police Brotherhood, John Catanzara Jr., said that the officer received a breath test and the result was negative. The officer was taken to the Covenant Hospital in Sweden for additional drug testing.
