According to the New York Times report on Thursday, the assassinated Haitian President Jovenel Moise’s palace security officer has been arrested and detained by the police.
The newspaper said that a spokesperson for the National Police confirmed that Dimitri Herard, the head of security at the Presidential Palace, had been detained. It said that prosecutors are seeking to know why the attackers did not encounter more resistance in the president’s home.
On July 7, Moise was shot dead at his home by people called the assassination team by the Haitian authorities, including 26 Colombians and two Haitian Americans.
Colombian police said on Thursday that they are looking for three other Colombians who have been to Haiti and the neighboring Dominican Republic.

Colombia emphasized that the Haitian authorities are leading the investigation.
“I want to reiterate that judicial investigations, assumptions and explanations do not belong to the Colombian authorities,” said Jorge Luis Vargas, chief of the National Police.
Vargas said he had no information on Wednesday’s report by the Colombian Caracol television station that Haiti’s acting prime minister, Claude Joseph, was implicated in the assassination. Joseph did not comment on these reports.
