On Wednesday, the story of the northern Edmonton community teaming up to present a net to a young basketball player was widely circulated.

LeBron James cheered the neighbors and 14-year-old Anthony Mubik and shared his story on Instagram.
“LeBron is my source of inspiration, he is there,” Anthony said.
“LeBron is the main reason I started playing basketball.”

A neighbor noticed that Anthony spent several hours a day dribbling the ball in his lane, but he did not have a net.
Ian Ray was impressed by the teenager’s basketball skills and asked for help on Facebook.

Some community members offered to donate their used fishing nets, but this post attracted so much attention that the Canadian tire area suddenly flooded in and donated a brand new fishing net.
On Monday night, Ray showed up at Anthony’s door with the net, a new basketball and a gift card.

Also attracted the attention of netizens Royal Crown Academic School In Toronto, it has invited Anthony to participate in its elite basketball program and hopes to provide him with support.
“Awesome. This is beyond my craziest dream.
“I’m just being recruited here! They gave me something, which is not something I usually get,” Anthony said.
The school’s admissions manager said that Josh Primo, the first alumnus of the basketball program, had just been selected with the 12th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.
“There are many things to accept,” said Leticia Mubik, Anthony’s mother.

The Mubik family only moved into this community last year, and Leticia said she is grateful for the feeling of the community. The reaction to Anthony and Ray’s story surprised them.
“The information, love, and support I see, I am proud of living in this community,” Leticia said.
“We saw LeBron James’ post earlier. I’m speechless,” she said. “I was shaking. I was shocked. I told my son that he was crying.”
“I’m really humble, I really appreciate it,” Anthony said.
They all felt that this experience came when many people needed some positive news.
“We have all gone through some difficult times, people need something happy to cheer them up,” Anthony said.
“I know people are still struggling,” Leticia added.
“Seeing this kind of love… My heart melts, because I know that many families are very difficult, and very difficult.”
Anthony and his family have been invited to participate in the Edmonton Stinger semifinals on Friday.
