The video captures a 9-year-old girl beating and chasing a purse thief who attacked her mother

After fighting a purse thief who attacked her mother, the police praised a brave 9-year-old girl who was a hero.

On November 2, Nelson and her mother were shopping in West Palm Beach, Florida, when a thief tried to rob them. 7 News Miami Report.

The newly released surveillance video shows Nelson and her mother Danielle Mobley walking to their car in the parking lot outside the Sabor Tropical Supermarket.

When Mobley began to pack the groceries, the thief, who was identified by the police as 29-year-old Demetrius Jackson, rushed while trying to steal her wallet and threw her to the ground.

Journey Nelson can be seen running over from the other side of the car, hitting Jackson repeatedly until he escapes.

According to a Miami news report on the 7th, the 9-year-old kid then hunted down the robber for five blocks.

“I fought back. I had to save my mother,” Nelson said at a press conference broadcast by the media.

“We were struggling with our wallets. He pushed me to the ground,” Danielle Mobley said at a press conference.

“That was when I let go and thought he would take off. I didn’t expect she would take off after him,” she said.

According to media reports, Jackson was arrested two days after the attack, and he was charged with robbery and assault.

On Thursday, the Florida police issued a “Certificate of Bravery” to Journee to prove that she defended her mother during the robbery.

“I don’t recommend that you face such a person, but in the most intense moments, things will happen,” Chief Frank Adley said at a press conference. 7 News Miami.

“I bet he will be shocked when she kicks him in the face, because he can definitely tell in the video that he didn’t expect it. In this particular situation, her behavior is the perfect timing, I I think she hit him hard.”

At the press conference, Mobley said that although she was proud of her daughter, Nelson was mentally hurt after the incident.
