The White House restarts the AANHPI plan


The Asian American Organization is celebrating the relaunch of the White House Initiative for Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (WHIAANHPI) on December 9th, and the appointment of U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai as its co-chair.

OCA Executive Director Thu Nguyen said: “As the first Asian American and woman of color to serve as the U.S. Trade Representative, Katherine Tai has a record of breaking barriers and is qualified to co-lead the White House’s initiative on AANHPI-Asia Pacific American People advocate. “We hope that she and WHIAANHPI Executive Director Krystal Ka’ai will continue to promote the expansion of the collection and use of disaggregated data at the federal level. “

Linda Ng, National Chair of OCA-Asia Pacific American Advocates, said: “The AANHPIs initiative launched by the White House is an urgently needed step to ensure that the federal government has a comprehensive strategy to combat anti-Asian prejudice, address health and economic disparities, and protect the AANHPI family from Provide assistance in recovery during a pandemic.”
