Due to the highly contagious Delta variant and the slowdown in vaccination rates, new Covid-19 infections have risen sharply, which has prompted the government to mandate health workers and other high-risk populations to be vaccinated with Covid-19. More and more countries also stipulate that activities such as eating out require an injection or a negative test.
Australia
Australia decided in late June to make it mandatory for high-risk elderly care workers and employees of quarantined hotels to be vaccinated against Covid-19.
It also stipulates that Paralympic athletes going to Tokyo must be vaccinated, because unvaccinated players may pose a health risk.
UK
From October, nursing home staff in England must be vaccinated against Covid-19.
Starting from the end of September, UK nightclubs and other crowded venues will require customers to show proof of full vaccination.
Canada
According to a CBC News report, the Secretariat of the Commission of the Ministry of Finance of Canada stated on July 20 that it was considering whether certain roles and positions in the federal government should be required to require a Covid-19 vaccine.
France
The French parliament approved a bill on August 2 that will make it mandatory for health workers to be vaccinated against Covid-19 and require enhanced health passes in many social places.
The government stated on July 19 that it plans to impose a fine of 45,000 euros on companies that do not check whether customers have health passes will be much lower, starting from a maximum of 1,500 euros and gradually increasing for repeat offenders. No fine will be imposed immediately.
Greece
Greece made mandatory vaccination of nursing home staff on July 12, effective immediately, and mandatory vaccination of medical staff from September. As part of the new measures, only vaccinated customers can enter the interiors of bars, cinemas, theaters and other enclosed spaces.
Indonesia
Indonesia imposed a mandatory Covid-19 vaccination in February, and the capital Jakarta threatened to impose a fine of up to 5 million rupiah (357 U.S. dollars) for refusing to accept it.
Italy
A decree approved by the Italian government in March requires health workers, including pharmacists, to be vaccinated. Those who refuse may be suspended from work for the rest of the year.

Kazakhstan
The Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan stated on June 23 that Kazakhstan will conduct mandatory Covid-19 vaccination or weekly testing for teams of more than 20 people.
Lebanon
The Ministry of Tourism of Lebanon stated on July 30 that Lebanon will restrict access to restaurants, cafes, bars and beaches to those who hold vaccine certificates or have undergone antibody tests. Unvaccinated employees of these institutions will be required to undergo PCR testing every 72 hours.
Malta
Malta has banned visitors from entering the country from July 14 unless they are fully vaccinated.
Poland
Starting in August, Poland may mandate certain people at high risk of Covid-19 to be vaccinated.
Russia
According to the Moscow Times, the Russian capital has announced a plan that requires 60% of all service workers to be fully vaccinated before August 15.
From July 19, Moscow residents no longer need to show a QR code proving that they have been vaccinated or have immunity in order to sit in cafes, restaurants and bars.
Saudi Arabia
In May, Saudi Arabia required all public and private workers who wish to participate in the workplace to be vaccinated, but did not specify when it would be implemented.
Starting August 1, entering any government, private or educational institution and using public transportation will also be required to be vaccinated.
The Saudi National News Agency SPA quoted the Ministry of the Interior on July 19 as saying that Saudi citizens need to be vaccinated with two doses to travel abroad from August 9.
Turkmenistan
The Ministry of Health of Turkmenistan stated on July 7 that all residents 18 years of age and older will be vaccinated.
US
A person familiar with the matter said that US President Joe Biden announced on July 29 that all civilian federal workers need to be vaccinated against Covid-19, otherwise they will face regular testing, social distancing, mask requirements and travel restrictions.
From September 13, New York City will be the first major city in the United States to require customers and employees of restaurants, gyms, and other indoor businesses to provide vaccination certificates, as the country has entered a new stage of fighting against the Delta variant.
New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo said that New York State will require state employees to be vaccinated or tested every week, and the order will take effect on September 6.
Cuomo said on August 2 that the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority will require their workers to be vaccinated or tested every week.
New Jersey health care workers and employees working in prisons must be vaccinated or tested twice a week by September 7.
